Maxim Van Lierde
Behind the fast wit and great sense of humour is a talented horseman who lives and breathes horses.
Maxim, who has a strong scientific background through his tertiary study, incorporates a science-based approach to his training to help with placement and decision making.
His passion for learning is an asset in any training partnership, always seeking the why and how, in order to get the absolute best out of every horse running under the VL Bloodstock banner.

Samantha Van Lierde
Sam's love of horses started when she was just a child, riding around the family farm mustering cattle, though it quickly progressed to competing at the top of NZ showjumping, from Pony Grand Prix to now Grand Prix and World Cup, both in NZ and Australia.
Her competitive nature makes her a force to be reckoned with both in the Showjump ring and now in the training ranks.
Her passion for working with horses as athletes is where she is most driven. Attention to detail and organisation are some of Sam's key strengths.
Stable Foreman
Briar Reid
Briar is an integral part of our team. One of the hardest working and most committed people you will meet.
From a well-known horse background, the Reid family, she was riding horses before she could walk. Brought up on the hunt field and soon to be in the racing industry, her growing knowledge and love for the horses is an invaluable asset to VL Bloodstock.
Briar knows the horses in detail, she knows what keeps them happy as individuals and can pick up on any changes in a horse's demeanour.
Facilities
Our property boasts a 1000-metre deep sand track, all-weather 70m x 40m schooling arena equipped with show jumps, spacious 5m x 6m stables with 24/7 airflow for 18 horses, extensive paddocking, warm water wash bays, an 8-horse walker and state-of-the-art horse treadmill.
